The Systems Society of India (SSI) is a 'professional body' of distinguished Engineers and Scientists from the Engineering, Science, Social Studies & Arts disciplines. It promotes advancement of theory, research, application & practice of a holistic systems approach for the advancement of humankind.
The objectives of Systems Society of India is to advance the study of Systems Science and Engineering and related subjects and promote their applications, particularly relevant to the needs of the country, to publish journal reporting results of original research in Systems Science & Engineering, to encourage meritorious work in the area of Systems Science and Engineering by according suitable recognitions to individuals and societies and to disseminate knowledge pertaining to theory and applications of Systems Science and Engineering through Systems Conferences held at appropriate intervals.
The flagship event of the Society is the Annual National Systems Conference (NSC) conducted in November / December every year at reputed institutions / organizations desirous of hosting NSC. In the past NSC has been hosted by institutions such as VSSC, ISAC, IISc Bangalore, IITs, DRDO, NIT, BHU, IIT-Roorkee, and, DEI-Dayalbagh.
The Systems Society of India encourages the formation of regional local chapters to advance the goals of the SSI at a grassroots level. At present, the Society has 19 Chapters all over the country. The Bangalore Chapter of the Society is very active and counts the top luminaries of the ICT sector among its Life Members.
